As early as 1872, the first food truck stood in front of a publishing building in Rhode Island, providing local journalists with cakes and coffee.
Even though the food truck boom of our time came out of LA, the food trucks from New York City exemplify the lifestyle of the eternally hustled, slightly neurotic metropolitan who wants to get a quick supply of fresh energy.
Hardly any film or series set in New York City does not show a food truck as a silent backdrop to urban events. For my photo series, on the other hand, I have put the food trucks in the focus and staged them as the sole protagonists.
